Home Repairs Ministries Project Manager 

Position Title: Project Manager
Reports to: Executive Director
Location: Duluth, GA
Type: Full-time

Overview:

The Project Manager will oversee and manage all aspects of home repair projects from initiation to completion. This role requires exceptional coordination skills, effective communication, and the ability to manage resources efficiently. Must know how to do actual repairs and instruct others in completing repairs as needed. The Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the quality standards expected by the organization and its beneficiaries. Working closely with the Executive Director, Administrative Assistant, volunteers, and third-party contractors, the Project Manager will play a key role in furthering Home Repairs Ministries’ mission to serve vulnerable homeowners through critical home repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct home inspections to assess and document necessary repairs for clients’ homes, ensuring that the work complies with program guidelines and securing required approvals.
  • Recruit, train, and manage skilled volunteers to perform home repairs in accordance with program procedures. Oversee repair execution, monitor progress, evaluate repair quality, and certify project completion.
  • Serve as the point of contact for both clients and volunteers throughout the repair process, addressing concerns and ensuring all work adheres to requirements.
  • Maintain thorough records of each project, ensuring project files, databases, and spreadsheets are accurately updated.
  • Effectively manage project budgets and resources, ensuring work is completed on time and within budget constraints.
  • Foster and strengthen relationships with both volunteers, contractors as needed, and external partners involved in the home repair projects.
  • Communicate regularly with staff and executive director on issues related to homeowner repair matters.
  • Ensure compliance with Home Repairs Ministries’ policies, values, and industry standards throughout all home repair activities.
  • Continuously improve knowledge of the home repair industry through educational opportunities, networking, and staying informed on current trends and best practices.
  • Participate in all required training and promotional events to represent the organization and promote home repair programs. Engage in volunteer activities as needed.
  • Uphold and model the organization’s mission and values while providing excellent customer service to homeowners, partners and volunteers.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identifying and mitigating risks as they arise.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as necessary to contribute to the success of the organization’s home repair initiatives.

    Requirements:

    • Minimum 5 years experience in home repair/remodeling (may consider hobby/personal work), construction or a related field.
    • Proven experience in project management, preferably in construction, home repairs, or nonprofit sectors.
    • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage, motivate, and coordinate volunteers and teams.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
    • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience managing relationships with diverse stakeholders, including volunteers, homeowners, contractors, and partners.
    • Proficiency in project management tools and technology, including Google Drive or similar cloud-based systems.
    • Ability to work under pressure, manage crises, and meet deadlines.
    • A passion for nonprofit work and serving vulnerable populations.
    • Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel locally to project sites as needed.
    • Ability to work one-to-two Saturdays per month
    • Must live within service area
