Dear friend,
“The mind of man plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps.” Proverbs 16:9
Each year we prepare a Strategic Plan which is our operating guide for the year. We have a committee of five that spends thoughtful time creating the plan. Once developed, we present that plan to our Board of Directors for approval. We had a great plan for 2020. It incorporated growth in all the areas that are important to us and those we serve.
Did we meet our stated goals for 2020? The short answer is no.
Was 2020 a complete miss? The short answer is also no.
Despite a pivot in our plans, we completed 98 projects in 2020. We helped many with nowhere else to turn. Our volunteers showed up, our individual donors continued to support us, and many prayed for us. (Thank each and every one of you for that.)
So far 2021 is off to a good start. I will share a few highlights with you:
We have two new board members who bring fresh ideas to help us grow.
We are now a member of ReFrame, a national organization for nonprofits that provide home repairs. Through this membership we have access to discounted materials, a national lobbying effort for support and much more.
We are in the process of obtaining a certification in home modifications for seniors.
And yes, we are still safely completing projects for homeowners in need.
Our Strategic Plan for 2021 is completed and approved and while we are hopeful for this new year, we are most excited to see how God will guide Home Repairs Ministries in the year ahead. We fully trust that He will direct our steps.
Thank you for your continued support. May 2021 shine bright for you.
Blessings,
Mark Wolfe
