Home Repairs Ministries, Inc. (“HRM or “we”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your Personal Information. HRM is a non-profit organization designed to assist churches with establishing ministries devoted to repairing homes and assisting homeowners and non-profit organizations in need. On our Website, www.homerepairs.org, we offer information to the general public about HRM, an online forum, blog, and certain other resources. As discussed below, however, the general public may not have full functionality to all of these resources (e.g., will not be able to post to forums). We also feature, to our Ministry Partners, an online community where other home repairs ministries will have access to additional materials, such as manuals, full access to our forums, and blogs, as well as an opportunity to connect with one another.

In this Privacy Policy (“Policy”), we describe the information that we collect from any visitor to our Website, www.homerepairs.org, including persons viewing the Website and ministries that have joined our network (referred to as “Ministry Partners”). Unless we distinguish otherwise, references to “you” include all visitors to our Website. This Policy governs the use of our Website, www.homerepairs.org, our Forum, and of our Blog. This Policy is incorporated by reference to the Terms of Use of our Website. Capitalized terms used but not defined in this document will have the same meanings that they are given in our Terms of Use.

This Website is designed for persons/churches in the United States.

What Information Do We Collect from You and How Do We Use Your Information?

We may collect information about you from a variety of sources, including information we collect from you directly when you make a donation to us, when you join our online community and create your profile, information about you when you use our services, and information we collect about your use of our Website. The type of information that we collect about you varies based on whether you are a member of our network or a visitor to our Website.

You do not have to provide us with any personal information to view our Website, and you are permitted to browse our Website anonymously. Certain features of our Website, however, only are available for Ministry Partners (apply now).

Website Donors

You may make a donation to HRM without joining our online community. If you make a donation to HRM through our Website, we collect your name, mailing address, email address, telephone number, and credit card information. If you have made a donation through out Website, we will use your information to email you/mail you correspondence regarding your donation. We also may use your contact information to send you direct mail communications about HRM that we believe would be of interest to you. We do not store your credit card information. You are not required to submit your credit card information, and you always have option of mailing a check to us.

Ministry Partners

If your church is interested in pursing a home repairs ministry, then it may apply to become a Ministry Partner, which will provide it will access to our online community. To apply to become a Ministry Partner, we require you to submit the following information:

  • Church Name
  • Church city, state, and zip code
  • Church phone number
  • Contact name
  • Contact email
  • Contact phone number and fax number (fax number optional)
  • Credit Card Information

In certain circumstances, we may permit you to provide us with a check in lieu of submitting the credit card information. We also ask whether the contact entered is the decision-maker for starting a home repairs ministry in their church and whether the church agrees with the statement of faith. If your application is accepted, then you will have the opportunity to provide the following optional additional information: whether your church has an Outreach/Compassion Ministry; approximate number of members in your church; and how long your church has been in existence. We also will ask whether we may share your contact information with other churches as partnership opportunities arise.

We use the information that we collect from you to permit you access to our Website and to process/fulfill your donations. We also use your information to customize email and direct mail communications so that we provide you with information that we believe would be of interest to you.

Information We Collect From Any Visitor to Our Website:

We use cookies and other tracking technologies to automatically collect information about you when you visit our Website or use our Services. Specifically, we may collect, including IP address, browser type, operating system, date and time of visit, time spent on and/or logged in to Website, and pages viewed. To Perform Services on Our Behalf: We may hire vendor companies to provide limited services on our behalf, such as payment processing, sending postal and electronic mail, providing technical support, and to assist us in providing the products and services that you request from us. We only provide those service providers with the information necessary to perform the requested service.

Consolidation of Non-Profit Entity. We reserve the right to disclose your information if we transfer all or a part of our ministry, or otherwise merge or partner with another non-profit entity, to third parties.

To Protect Ourselves/For Legal Purposes: We also may disclose your information to protect our rights and property, to prevent against fraud and abuse, and to protect other users of our services. We also may disclose your information as permitted or required by law, for example, in response to court orders, subpoenas, or other requests from government agencies.

How Do We Use Cookies & Other Tracking Technologies?

User Generated Content

We maintain forums and blogs on our Website. Ministry Partners may participate in the forums, submit their own content in forums and on blogs, and respond to blog postings. Only Ministry Partners may post to our forum, but any visitor to our Website may view the forum. Any visitor to our Website may view and respond to our blog. Home Repairs Ministries, Inc. is not responsible for the privacy of any information that you choose to submit through a our Forums or blog, or for the accuracy of any information contained in those postings. Any information that you disclose through our blog becomes public information. We cannot prevent such information from being used in a manner that may violate this Policy, the law, or your personal privacy.

Children’s Privacy

You must be 18 years of age to register for an account with our Website. As such, our services are only intended for persons ages 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from persons under 18, including from children under the age of 13.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We will post changes to this Policy to this Website. Changes will become effective upon posting. If we make a material change to this Policy, then we will highlight that change upon posting.
