March 2013 eNewsletter - Helping a Single Mom Deal With a Medical Emergency

A single mother that we have served previously, and a sister in Christ, has a major need. One of her adopted twin daughters needs a kidney transplant and is currently on dialysis. This is requiring some major updates to her home and entails a multi-phased project. One of the benefits is that the dialysis can be done at home once the changes are made.

We will be finishing out part of the basement (including framing, hanging and taping drywall, installing doors and base molding, and more) for her third, older daughter to live so that they can have a bedroom upstairs, near mom, for the one who needs dialysis. In addition, we will be removing the tub and making some updates to make the bathroom more accessible.

One of our Core Team members has drawn up a project plan and is working with volunteers from First United Methodist Church of Lawrenceville to get the job done. Our thanks to all involved!

This is a good example of the model that we are going for to increase ministry impact - unleashing and empowering talented volunteers to run with (and execute) projects so that we can help more people. Are you one of those people? If so, call me and join with us in saying “Thank you” to our Savior and showing His love and majesty to others!
