June 2014 Newsletter - Investing in the Lives of Those We Serve

We have asked for prayer that we might have more spiritual impact in our client’s lives, knowing that is our most important work. The Lord certainly surprises me with His answers to prayer. You may remember our project last November, where we built a wheelchair ramp for Cornelia and her husband Nicolae, who was battling ALS.

We also shared with you that, after Nicolae died in March, we were surprised to find her very open to a pastoral visit, conversations about spiritual things and encouragement about the grief process and planning. An HRM partner church in Marietta contacted her to minister to her.

Since then, I learned that other Christians had also come alongside Cornelia and Nicolae. I was so encouraged to hear from one of them that Nicolae had put his trust in Christ alone for salvation before he died. My greatest surprise and honor was when Cornelia asked me to lead a graveside service for Nicolae in May. It was a privilege to share the hope of the gospel with her family and friends. One gentleman asked me for a copy of the message I delivered. Please pray that God continues to do a great work in Cornelia, her friends and family, and for more gospel opportunities that will bring glory to God and show people Jesus, our only hope.
