August 2012 Newsletter - Relieving a Heavy Load

We got a request from Gwinnett Senior Loading the DumpsterServices to help a woman who has been cited by the county for the “treasures” in her yard. She couldn’t load up the dumpster herself, so enter HRM! This project was challenging because we needed to recruit eight to ten volunteers and pull them together in a short period of time. Two days out from project day I wasn’t sure that we would be able to finish the project Saturday and was thinking we might have to get some people out on a weekday.

Friday, things started moving. Calls and texts started flying in for information and they continued into Saturday morning! As it turned out, there were 17 people on-site Saturday. That’s a huge turnout for a project like this. In fact, there were so many people there that the dumpster was loaded and the crew was gone by 10 A.M..

Why do I sweat about these things so much? We rest in the hands of a sovereign God who always works all things to good. As Proverbs 16:9 says, “The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps.” God is always in control. Our part is to be diligent.
